CDM Regulations

Under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015, the previous role of CDM co-ordinator has been replaced with Principal Designer.    All construction projects must comply with the requirements of the CDM Act including the appointment of a Principal Contractor and Principal Designer and certain projects must be notified to the HSE. 

The Principal Designer has the responsibility for managing the health, safety and welfare of projects from pre-construction to ongoing design.
